takayna - a journey
If you’re in Tassie, or heading to Hobart before 26 June, head to Long Gallery at Salamanca Arts Centre. The Bob Brown Foundation are proudly presenting, takayna - a journey.

This is a story about a place where nature has evolved for millions of years. Its flora, lichens and fossils tell the story of the planet’s evolution.

A landscape much unchanged since the ancestors of the palawa walked upon the land providing cycles of connection to cultural power and spirit.

A place, that is right now, today, disappearing by the effects of the human race.

We come from it, we connect with it, we defend it.

There is still time to keep this place intact.

This place is TAKAYNA.

Exhibiting under the five themes Gondwana, Aboriginal Living Culture, Industrial Destruction, Defenders and Future Hope.

Wednesday 16 – Saturday 26 June 2021
10:00am – 6:00pm daily

Whilst visiting, be sure to check out my artwork - Get Home Swiftly, featuring critically endangered Swift Parrots, among many other works of art on display that have been provided by Australian artists to support this event.
